Miller is a business unit of J.M. Huber Corporation, a family-owned company with a long history of dedication to sustainable business practices. Huber’s approach to sustainability centers on a Triple Bottom Line (TBL) strategy, balancing considerations of People, Planet and Profit when making business decisions, and is embodied in the Huber Principle of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S). In keeping with this Principle, it is our goal to reduce Huber’s environmental footprint while growing our enterprise.
Responsible stewardship of the environment is a part of Huber’s legacy. Huber put environmental protection processes into place in the 1950s—long before such issues were even a concern for many companies. Over the years, Huber has developed a wide range of sustainable practices that help us do our part to protect and preserve the world’s natural resources for generations to come.
Nutrient Express® is a premium quality foliar fertilizer, unique in the market and exclusively offered by Miller. This very water-soluble fertilizer product is designed to be used on all crops, improving plant vigor and promoting crop production. Incorporating both macro and micro nutrients, Miller’s exclusive Express Technology is designed to improve nutritional conditions necessary for peak root growth, flowering, fruit development, nutrient availability, color, and ripening. This product is compatible to mix with commonly used insecticides, fungicides, and miticide programs. Foliar fertilization is intended to be used as a supplement to a regular fertilization program and will not provide all the nutrients generally required by agricultural crops.
Nutrient Express contains the following in addition to the N-P-K foundational analysis:
is a high phosphate formulation for all crops demanding high phosphorus during physiological stress periods. This formulation is designed to improve plant vigor and plant production during root development, flower formation, fruit retention, and development.
Nutrient Express is used as a foliar application to supplement normal soil fertility during plant physiological peak demand periods. This technology utilizes the plant’s natural metabolic activity and a proprietary humectant system to significantly increase nutrient uptake and utilization efficiency compared to standard foliar fertilizers. This allows for applied product solutions to remain in a liquid form on the leaf surface for a longer period of time. Maintaining this liquid state allows for a more complete absorption of products, minimizing loss to crystallization on the leaf surface.
All within a single formulation, Nutrient Express encompasses a unique range of components required for plant development such as macronutrients, micronutrients, and key amino acids. Nutrient demand is greatest during development and reproductive stages (rooting, flowering, fruit set, crop development, and ripening). Even if your plants look healthy, hidden nutritional and abiotic stressors could be impacting crop yield and quality. Nutrient Express contains technology designed to enhance nutrient absorption and mobility in order to provide precise nutrition and energy at critical development stages while also helping to mitigate abiotic stress.
Pod Ceal® is a unique formulation containing cyclohexane polymer concentrate. It is a harvest management tool that helps improve yield capture and crop quality. Pod Ceal reduces the intrusion of moisture into the pod as the crop matures. This reduction in moisture intrusion can benefit the crop when it is exposed to rains or heavy dews during the final stages of development and dry down.
Pod Ceal binds to the pod’s natural waxes, forming an elastic, semi-permeable membrane. This helps limit the intrusion of moisture from rain or dew from entering the pod, while still letting internal moisture out. This reduces the strain on the pod structure and allows the sutures holding the pod halves together to remain intact. Maintaining the integrity of the pod structure allows the seed to fully develop, facilitating delayed swath and/or direct harvesting strategies. Controlling the entry of water reduces splitting/shatter and maintains seed quality.
Exit® activator-adjuvant comprises a blend of premium-quality esterified seed oil with a proprietary surfactant and humectant system. This spreader-sticker activator helps maximize coverage, cuticle absorption, and translocation of agrochemicals. , Exit® is specially formulated for systemic, hormonal, and nutritional applications. It is designed for use with both water-soluble and oil-soluble formulations. Ultimately, Exit® activator surfactant increases deposition and surface activity of pesticides allowing for greater absorption and translocation over time. This increase in efficiency and effectiveness allows you to do more with less.
For a foliar application to be absorbed into the plant, it must be either absorbed through the cuticle (waxy coating on a leaf surface that protects the plant from water loss and damage) or through the stomata (openings on the underside of the plant leaf that help to regulate water exiting the plant). To minimize water loss, stomata are typically closed for most of the day. To maximize plant uptake through the cuticle or stomata, an agrochemical must be in contact with the leaf surface for as long as possible. This can be incredibly challenging in conditions such as high heat, winds or even low humidity when rapid drying and crystallization can be a concern.
By utilizing Miller’s proprietary surfactant and humectant technology, the addition of Exit® to a tank mix dramatically increases deposition, coverage, and the speed of absorption through the cuticle while also minimizing the crystallization of agrochemicals on the leaf surface. This allows for an increase in the amount of time the agrochemical is in contact with the leaf surface, which in turn increases uptake and reduces loss.
